Rep. Ray Pickett, Sen. Ralph Hise meets with the Ashe Community

West Jefferson - The Sweet & Savory Bakery and Deli was nearly packed to capacity as involved citizens of Ashe County met to hear and speak with NC Representative Ray Pickett and NC Senator Ralph Hise on August 22, 2024.

This was the second "Let's Chat" event of this election cycle sponsored by the Ashe County Republican Party.

A lively, diverse, and informative discussion and question and answer session was held as Rep. Pickett and Sen. Hise responded to open and unplanned questions from the attendees.  For an hour and a half, they covered topics from taxes, state budget, local funding issues, problems with the Child Protective court process, protecting he United State Constitution, local farming, marketing concerns, and many others.

At the conclusion, it was agreed by the speakers and all in attendance that it was a productive event and there are plans to do it again at least once before the November election.
